Welcome to the Greener Leith Social. If there's something you'd like to see on this site that it doesn't do yet, please tell us. If you've just joined then please consider introducing yourself to other folk here. You might also want have a look at some of the groups, to see if any of those appeal. If not, why not set up one of your own and invite your friends to join in?

If you are a member of a community group, club, friends of parks group, community council or residents association you could consider whether you could use this site to host your own group - either for your committee, or your members, or both!

Please read the 'About' page too - as it gives a bit of background on how to use the site.

I am a wee bit environmentally friendly and hope you all like my foray into your website - I thought a range of interesting information might be useful, especially as the kids/young people will be out of school soon for their holidays : I am anticipating there is something for everyone of interest and to participate in. I tap into European sites from time to time on topics such as Environment, Employment, Justice, so I may prove useful in getting information from this layer to the people of Leith and there is no reason why Leithers cannot engage in Europe and feed information back through these sites.

Will dip into your site from time to time.

Just a thought, if you know what the link is to the two sites that you are suggesting, why not copy and paste them into a post. That is what I did viz-a-viz a European website on the discussion forum, it is then for Greener Leith, Al, to moderate or for us posters to "object" concerning content - thereby ensuring regulation. However, if you do not know the links - have you tried "google" - if they come up - you can right click your mouse and "copy" the address line, then all you do is "paste" it into your post on Greener Leith. In any event, I have no doubt you will get a response from Greener Leith / Al - but just posting you my experience of using chat threads - you do it, then it is moderated, rather than seeking permission first.

I keep meaning to add a 'useful links' bit to the site, where we can certainly link to other groups in Leith. However, there's a better way! If the new Leith Links CC site will have an 'RSS Feed' of news updates you can add that to a Leith Links CC group on this site - and then when you update the Leith Links CC site, your 'group' on this site will also automatically update too.

I've had a look at the Leith History Society Website and I note that there is no 'RSS Feed' for the news part of the site, which is a shame. However, there is a feed for latest posts to the History Society Forum. I can set the Leith History Society Group up with this feed if you'd like? Let me know what you think!
