Hi People

I attended a meeting last week at Lochend House with Carr-Gomm Scotland and the Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association who have obtained some hard cash for a community garden in the Lochend/ Restalrig area from Scottish Natural Heritage.

Hence were making a few community gardens nearby, probably in the shape of everyone interested having a raised bed of varying sizes, a communal space, communal herb garden, childrens play area, you name it, it can probably be included. Theres quite a few sizeable neglected greenspaces nearby that the council maintain yet in some the public doesnt even get access, just the council cuts the grass. Crazy but true. Anyways weve pretty much secured a few.

So whats the catch? Well nothing at the moment, turn up say what you want then start growing your spuds, carrots and greens next spring! Hence please spread the word and let me know if you or anyone you know is interested.

Cheers
Keith

Hi Keith

I'd be very interested in having a wee space to grow some stuff. I guess you'll post more information as it becomes available.

Thanks for your efforts on our behalf.

Hi this is Montse from 23 Beechwood terrace,

Sorry I haven't been in touch at all.

I attach questionaire and information about that meeting you attended.  This e-mail came from Joan who runs Community Health at Lochend House 33-35 Lochend Road South joan@link-upsupport.co.uk who are organising lots of community courses and workshops.

I got the e-mail about the vegetable patch because of the Spanish Group that I run in Craigentinny community centre.

I think the contact for the carr-gommscotland is michelle woodall

michellewoodall@carr-gommscotland.org.uk

Well done for all your efforts with the lochend terraces group, sorry I didn't do anything about Halloween but I had my parents here and it proved difficult...I am still interested in being part of the lochend terraces group and I will try to be more involve.
