Thinking of having a big street party on the Royal Wedding Day 29th April as were all off work and its the long weekened. Anybody interesed?

Am not much of a royalist so would not relish celebrating the event. Perhaps we could consider a barbecue /street party the weekend before the Leith festival? This would be June and may be better for weather. We could kick off the festival with a colony party. It would also allow time to plan and get a group together to organise and advertise the event in the colonies.
If we want a street party we have to ask the council as we may get complaints from people who want to park their cars. Otherwise getting a group of gardens together at the end of a street may be better or one of the walkways?

The street party before the Leith Festival sounds great! Maybe diferent street as Elmwood always do the party. any suggestions on which street can be done - preferably end of the street.
There won't be anymore Ceilidh party, just a few people bringing cakes and sharing food, we have barbeque in our garden. One of the Oakville person is organising it and she will put a TV in the end of the street beside their garden wall and some people wants to bring chairs to watch them. So hopefully they will be no problems.
