One of the arguments that Forth Energy have put forwards to justify the massive scale of their proposed Biomass plants is that smaller scale biomass and district heating systems are not financially viable without public subsidy. Today the Scottish Government announced a whole lot of subsidy for small scale renewable biomass plants throughout the country. So what's stopping Forth Energy applying to this fund in order to support the costs of building a district heating system supplied (perhaps in part) by smaller scale biomass plants on the docks then? http://www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Releases/2010/05/20100227
