Introduction

This group aims to make it easy for Leithers to contact their local elected representatives. Some people find it hard to get to the off-line surgeries that our politicians hold, and it can also be confusing to work out whether you should be raising an issue with a local councillor, an MSP, an MP or an MEP. We have local representatives from all tiers of government on the site - of course we can't guarantee that you'll get a reply from them! Don't hesitate to contact us if you would like more information on this group.

Public questions.

This is a public group, and we'd encourage you to ask questions of your local elected representatives in public, where possible, by starting a 'discussion' in the box below. In turn, we'd also encourage the elected politicians using this group to respond to a public question in the discussion area in public too.

Before you do ask a public question please consider whether the information in the question should be in the public domain. If it contains personal details about you or other people, that you don't think should be public knowledge, you might want to consider contacting your local politicians in a different way, see below.

Send a message to a specific person.

You can see the other members of this group in the 'members' box on the left. To send members of the group a private email through this site you should have a look at their profile page - you may be able to send them an message via their profile page or you may need to be 'friends' with them first - it depends on how individual people set-up their profiles.

However, you'll probably find that most politicians have a link to their personal website on their member page. Failing that try www.writetothem.com
