Terms of Service

When you join The Greener Leith Social, you accept the terms of service of our platform host.

We take our responsibilities seriously and, without prejudice to our host's terms & conditions want you to be aware of the following terms:

1. Members permit the site administrators to use, reproduce and modify any
content placed on the site.

2. The administrators of The Greener Leith Social have absolute discretion as to what content is used, how it is managed, where it is posted, and may move or delete any content at any time.

3. Members under 18 should obtain their parent or guardian's permission before posting any comments or materials.

4. Greener Leith does not vet and is not responsible for any information which is posted on this site. All content is viewed and used by you at your own risk and we do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of any of the information. The views expressed are those of the individual contributors and not necessarily those of the website administrators, or the Greener Leith management committee.

5. We ask all members to be aware of and comply with the following guidelines:

a. If you hold a political position or your membership is on behalf of a trade or profession which has adirect bearing on your membership, this should be clearly disclosed on your member's page. Reminders of that affiliation should be made when appropriate if you are writing to another member or posting on a discussion. Examples of trades or professions which are relevant in the is context are:- an officer of Edinburgh City Council, an elected representative, journalist. Employees or other representatives of
organisations which are the subject of discussions should also declare their interest. (For example an employee of Sainsbury's in a discussion about Sainsbury's).

b. The following postings are not permitted:

* i. Any comments or messages which are likely to be construed as personal sleights or comments on other members.

*ii. Any comments or messages which are likely to be offensive to other
members on the grounds of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

* iii. Any posting which is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, offensive, harmful or otherwise
objectionable.

* iv. Any posting that violates the legal rights of others or that could damage a computer (e.g. viruses) .

* v. Any posting that reveals any personal information about yourself or anyone else.

* vi. Any discussions which, in the opinion of the administrator, cross the line between healthy debate and bickering will be closed on receipt of a complaint.

OTHER NOTICES & PROTOCOLS

1. Complaints - Any infringement of the terms above will be dealt with speedily by the administrators. Please leave any compliants/comments/suggestions on the feedback group or send it to us via this form.

2. Please be cautious when discussing issues such as local campaigns where there is the potential for useful information to pass into the hands of other parties (e.g. developers in a planning discussion, or betting shop operators in a betting shop discussion).

3. Please try and stay on topic within discussions. If something else occurs to you, but perhaps isn’t directly relevant, why not start another post (And this includes the site administrator!).

4. Please be nice, constructive and keep your language clean. That way no one's offended.

5.Please be courteous to other members. Whilst differences of opinion are inevitable, we do not allow discourtesy in the discussions.
