Let's go out is an outdoor do it yourself playgroup based in parks and other natural spaces. It comes from an idea in Glasgow where I participated in a group called Nurture in Nature (organised by Lusi Alderslowe) with my wee girl. We went to lovely parks, always public transport accessible, dog friendly and any weather. I started going in the snow with the hard core of other crazy folk but on warmer days it's a bit easier to stay out for much longer. The idea is to be child led and just explore and play in whatever enviroment you're in, the secret is to have enough food with you! As lots of people know kids need much less (or no) adult input once outside climbing around, getting muddy and finding better and better sticks. So, Vicky Allan came to see the playgroup in Glasgow and wrote an article drawing on it in the Sunday Herald. I moved to Leith where she also lives and we decided to start a similar group here. Now we're spreading the word. At the moment we plan to meet up every Thursday. You can find out more on the events page.
